I am a firm believer that you need a team in order to reach your goal. It doesn’t matter what you are doing. If you are starting a business you need support of family, friends, vendors, bankers, customers, etc. I’m glad that I surround myself with people who support and push me to the next level. Besides the number one cheerleader in my life, Phyllis my wife, Cheryl Dennis has been supportive of my business from the first day. There are many others who support me and I will give them a spotlight soon by mentioning how they have helped me.
When I announced that I started my photography business Cheryl was the first to bring me my first paying customers. She volunteers to coach the Los Angeles Southwest Middle College High School cheerleaders. What a great group of young ladies! I had the privilege to do a photo shoot with the group and we had a great time. We did group, individual and action portraits. Cheryl was my volunteer sales representative. She made sure the cheerleaders were on time for the shoot, collected all the photo orders, delivered the photo orders and anyone who didn’t place their order on time it was Cheryl that called. Wow! She’s constantly referring customers to us.
What do you do for people who support you? Even if you don’t have the monetary means to pay them you can still do something for those who support you. First, start by saying “Thank You”. These two small words go along way when they come from the heart. People just want to know that you appreciate them. Second, use what’s in your hands to show your gratitude. I gave Cheryl a complimentary photo shoot to say thanks for her support. It doesn’t take much to show gratitude just use what you have and give it from your heart. Finally, let those who support you know what you are doing. Usually these are people who know other people. They will get other people involved because that’s what they like to do.
Thanks Cheryl for all your support. This post is for you!
